The 79th Independence Day celebration on August 17, 2024, at Kemang Village wasfilled with festive and joyful activities. The event commenced with a flag-raisingceremony at the main entrance of Kemang Village via Jalan Antasar. This solemnceremony honored the historic moment of Indonesia’s proclamation of independence.

Participants, including Kemang Village management, community representatives, andresidents, gathered to pay tribute to the nation’s freedom. The raising of the red andwhite flag was a significant moment, serving as a reminder of the values ofindependence and national pride.

Following the ceremony, the Kemang Village security team presented two engagingdemonstrations. The first was a VIP protection drill, where security personnel showcasedprotocols for safeguarding distinguished guests. The second was a self-defensedemonstration, highlighting combat techniques and training essential for maintainingsecurity.

After the security demonstrations, the event continued with a marching bandperformance, featuring Indonesian national and patriotic songs, further enhancing thecelebratory atmosphere.

The festivities then moved to the traditional food bazaar, offering a variety of Indonesianculinary delights. Before the bazaar officially opened, guests were treated to traditionaldance performances, including Tari Piring from Padang and Tari Topeng from Jakarta,adding a rich cultural touch to the event.

As the celebration continued, a series of Independence Day competitions—a hallmark ofIndonesian festivities—were held for both children and adults. The event concluded withthe awarding of medals to the winners, bringing the day to a joyous and memorableclose.
